EEE Alumni Connect Session – Er. Lenin Das (2004–08 Batch) inspires students

An Enriching Alumni Connect session by the EEE Dept inspired students with career-focused guidance while strengthening the enduring bond of Vidya’s alumni community

The Dept organized an Alumni Connect Session with the 2022–26 batch on 13 August 2025.

The session began with a warm welcome address by Ms Sheeja G (Asst Prof, EEE Dept).Mr Krishna Kumar (Asst Prof,EEE Dept)  introduced the distinguished resource person, while Ms. Akhila R (Tutor, S7 EEE) and Ms. Neenu Thomas graced the occasion with their presence.

The keynote address was delivered by Er. Lenin Das R (E & I QA/QC Engineer and CompEx Instructor, 2004–08 Batch, EEE Dept) on the theme “Pathway to Oil and Gas Industry”. He shared his inspiring professional journey, highlighting:

• Global career opportunities in the oil and gas sector
• Essential skills and safety standards required in the industry
• The importance of bridging academic knowledge with practical applications

A key highlight of his talk was a cautionary note on fraudulent agencies offering overseas placements. He advised students to rely only on government-accredited job consultants or apply directly through official company portals. He emphasized that fresh graduates, especially women, should thoroughly verify the authenticity of opportunities before making commitments.

The session witnessed active student participation, with lively discussions and insightful questions. The event was effectively coordinated by Ms. Sheeja G (Asst Prof,EEE Dept)  who encouraged student interaction and ensured the smooth flow of the programme.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ann Maria (S7, EEE Dept), who expressed gratitude to the speaker, faculty, and participants.
