NSS Day Initiative: ‘Sasneham Oru Oonu’

On the occasion of NSS Day, Vidya NSS Units organized ‘Sasneham Oru Oonu’, a food distribution initiative aimed at supporting the underprivileged while fostering compassion and social responsibility among volunteers.

As part of the program, 116 Pothichooru (wrapped meals) were prepared and distributed on 24 September 2025, with contributions from NSS volunteers, students, and staff. The meals were carefully packed and delivered at noon to ensure timely distribution

• 55 Pothichooru delivered to the inmates of Ashraya Bhavan, Nadathara

• 61 Pothichooru delivered to ACTS, Thrissur

The success of this initiative was greatly supported by the enthusiastic leadership of the NSS Volunteer Secretaries: Harikrishnan K (S5 ME), Alanteena C A (S5, EEE Dept), Godwin C Baiju (S5, ME Dept), Sonu Sunny (S5, ME Dept), Rashmi V R (S5, ECE Dept), Manu K M (S5, EEE Dept) and Anamika Sebastian (S5, ECE Dept). Their dedication and organizational skills ensured smooth execution, reflecting the true spirit of service.

The program was coordinated under the guidance of Mr Rajesh S K (NSS Program Officer,  Asso Prof, EEE Dept) and Mr Ranjith E R ((NSS Program Officer,  Asst Prof, ME Dept) whose support was instrumental in the successful completion of the initiative.

This initiative not only provided essential nourishment to the underprivileged but also fostered empathy, teamwork, and a strong sense of social responsibility among the participating volunteers.
