CE Dept conducts GATE Readiness program ‘V-GATE PRO’

To enhance GATE preparedness among Civil Engineering students through exam simulation and expert guidance,the Department of Civil Engineering organized V-GATE PROGATE – GATE Readiness Event on 03 February 2026 at the Common Computer Center as part of VIDYA for Growth, Achievement, Training & Excellence (Professional Series), in collaboration with CIVILIANZ.

The program began with  a prayer by Ms. Yamini Vijayan (S6, CE Dept). The welcome address was delivered by Dr Abhilasha P S (HoD, CE Dept) who emphasized the importance of systematic preparation and mock assessments for success in competitive examinations.

An interactive session by CIVILIANZ commenced at 9:40 AM, focusing on GATE examination strategies, subject prioritization, and time management. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Ardra P. Nair (Asst Prof, CE Dept)

GATE Mock Test was conducted from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM, closely simulating the actual GATE examination environment. Based on performance, CIVILIANZ awarded scholarships to top performers as part of the event to encourage and support meritorious students.

• First Prize      : Anand Krishna T M  (S8,B.Tech) – 50% scholarship

• Second Prize   : Amaljo K Joshy (S2,M.Tech)  – 25% scholarship

• Third Prize     : Jayakrishnan M R (S8,B.Tech) – 15% scholarship

The announcement of scholarships served as a strong motivational factor for participants and highlighted CIVILIANZ’s commitment to supporting student excellence.

The program concluded with a valedictory function,marking the successful completion of the event. Overall,V-GATE PROGATE was highly effective in familiarizing students with the GATE examination pattern, boosting their confidence, and reinforcing the department’s dedication to academic and professional development.
