EEE Dept conducts session on ‘Opportunities after GATE Exam’

To provide valuable insights into the significance of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examination and the numerous career opportunities available for engineering graduates after qualifying the exam,the Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (AEEE) of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering  organized an expert session on “Opportunities after Engineering through GATE Exam” for S4 EEE students on 11 February 2026. The program was conducted in association with ONES Coaching.

During the session, the resource person Mr Satheesan U (ONES Coaching), explained that a strong GATE score enables students to secure admission to premier institutions such as Indian Institutes of Technology, National Institutes of Technology, and Indian Institute of Science for pursuing M.Tech programs and research with financial assistance. He also highlighted that many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) including Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, NTPC Limited, and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation recruit engineers based on GATE scores, offering excellent career prospects, job security, and attractive salary packages.

The speaker further discussed opportunities in research through fellowships, teaching careers, and possibilities for pursuing higher studies abroad.

The session proved to be highly informative and motivating for the S4 EEE students, helping them understand the significance of the GATE examination and the wide range of academic and professional opportunities available after qualifying it. The program concluded with an interactive discussion where students clarified their doubts regarding preparation strategies and career options.
