Winners of “VoiceHER” Speech Competition conducted by the NDLI Club of Central Library on International Women’s Day
Vidya Academy of Science and Technology celebrated International Women’s Day by honoring the dedication, strength, and valuable contributions of all women in the institution. The Central Library organized a Speech Competition ‘VoiceHER’ under the auspices of IQAC, ISTE and NDLI Club for students as part of the celebrations, aiming to highlight the importance of women’s voices in literature.
The competition was held on 11 March 2026 under the theme: “VoiceHER – The Power of Women’s Voices in Literature”. Students were encouraged to participate and express their perspectives on the role, influence and impact of women’s voices in literary works. Before the session, Mr. Girish Kumar P. C. (Librarian) and Mr. K. Vijayanarayanan (Library Attendant) addressed the students and motivated them to share their thoughts confidently and make most of the opportunity to showcase their oratory and creative skills.The event was documented by Mr. Aneesh M. A. (Library Attendant) through photos and videos, capturing the memorable moments and performances of the students.
Mr Biju P. V. (Asso Prof, ME Dept) and Ms. Surabhi M. S. (Asst Librarian) served as judges for the session and were impressed by the students’ performances, as they expressed their perspectives on the role, influence, and impact of women’s voices in literary works, showcasing their oratory skills and creative insights

The event provided a platform for students to showcase their oratory skills while reflecting on the significance of women’s contributions to literature and society. The competition received an enthusiastic response, demonstrating active student engagement and interest in celebrating women’s achievements.
The event was organized under the leadership of Mr. Girish Kumar P. C. (Librarian), with coordination support from Ms. Surabhi M. S. (Asst. Librarian), Mr. Aneesh M. A.(Library Attendant) and Mr. K. Vijayanarayanan (Library Attendant). Mr. Sarath Babu Ramachandran (ISTE Secretary – VAST Chapter,Asst Prof – Sel.Grade, ME Dept) provided invaluable guidance and support, ensuring the smooth conduct of the competition and contributing to its overall success.
