Vidya unveils grand plans for the Scholarship and Endowment Bestowal Function 2026 at official Press Meet

To share the latest updates, invite media participation, and express the institution’s joy regarding the forthcoming Scholarship and Endowment Bestowal Function 2026, a press meet was organized on 14 July 2026 at Press Club, Erumappetti.
Ms. Surabhi M. S. (Media Convener, Asst. Librarian) commenced the press meet with an opening announcement, warmly welcoming the dignitaries and the media fraternity. After thanking the print and electronic media personnel for their continuous support of the institution, she introduced the core vision behind Vidya’s scholarship initiatives, setting a positive tone for the rest of the briefing
Leading the press briefing, Adv. P. N. Unnirajan (Director – Administration, VICT) delivered a comprehensive address detailing the vast scholarship initiatives spearheaded by the Vidya International Charitable Trust (VICT) alongside its dedicated benefactors. He emphasized Vidya’s enduring legacy of academic empowerment, highlighting that the institution has successfully extended financial aid exceeding Rs 97 crores to over 6,800 deserving students over the last 23 years.Adding to the significance of the upcoming ceremony, Adv. P. N. Unnirajan announced that Dr. A.V. Anoop (Chairman & Managing Director of the AVA Group of Companies) will grace the event as the Chief Guest.
Highlighted by Mr. E. G. Ashokan (Trustee Coordinator, VICT) as a core pillar of the trust’s ethos, this ceremony serves as a living expression of their motto: “Enlightening through Education.” He reiterated that VICT remains deeply dedicated to the educational and social empowerment of marginalized sectors, ensuring that the trust’s success is continually channeled back into uplifting society.He also highlighted the long-term relationship with Mr. Anoop, who has been an invaluable asset to the team as a trustee, further strengthening VICT’s mission over the years
Taking the podium, Dr. Vinila M. L. (Programme Convener, HoD, EEE Dept.) informed the media that the highly anticipated ceremony is officially set to be presided over by Mr. Gireesh Kumar Malattiri (VICT Chairman) who will lead the day’s prestigious proceedings. Furthermore, she announced that, through the scholarship scheme managed by the Vidya Social Empowerment Center (VSEC) under VICT, scholarships will be awarded to meritorious school students from the Thrissur district during the ceremony. Additionally, she provided a brief overview of the alumni-driven initiatives, highlighting the 2010–14 Batch Students Scholarship and the Vidya Volunteer Scholarship.Dr. Vinila further emphasized that the entire event is fully primed for success under the dedicated guidance and leadership of Mr. Suresh Lal (Executive Director, VICT), Dr. Shalij P. R. (Director – Academics), and Dr. Sunitha C. (Principal)
Addressing the media next, Dr. Mary P. Varghese (Programme Convener, Prof, EEE Dept.)detailed the ‘Roots’ scholarship program, an exemplary model of alumni giving established by the graduates of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. This specialized fund is set to award scholarships to meritorious ‘Roots’ beneficiaries alongside newly enrolled students in the Electrical Engineering stream. The presentation concluded with a joint summary by Dr. Vinila and Dr. Mary, outlining the distinct parameters and institutional reach of Vidya’s diverse financial aid portfolios.
