AIML Association Day 2026 celebrates talent, technology and student spirit

Marking a celebration of talent, teamwork, and togetherness, AIML Association Day along with Freshers Day 2026 was held on 20 August 2026 with great enthusiasm and vibrant participation. The occasion brought students and faculty together through a blend of academic recognition, cultural performances, and engaging activities, reflecting the dynamic spirit and unity of the AIML community.

The proceedings began with a traditional Rangapooja performed by Semester 7 students Anjana (S7, AIML Dept), Samnaya (S7, AIML Dept), Devika (S7, AIML Dept) and Lakshmi (S7, AIML Dept), creating a serene and auspicious atmosphere. This was followed by the welcome address delivered by Neeraj S Nair (President, AIML Association,S7, AIML Dept) who welcomed the Head of the Department, faculty members, students, and the newly inducted S1 batch. The formal inauguration commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Dr. Jeeva K A (HoD, AIML Dept) along with Ms. Riya Roy (Dept Association Incharge,Asst Prof, AIML), Neeraj S Nair (President), Meera Surendran (Vice President), and Punnya P Madhu (Secretary, AIML Association). In her inaugural address, Dr. Jeeva K A highlighted the rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and encouraged students to embrace technological innovation, maintain academic discipline, and actively participate in departmental activities. Ms. Punnya P Madhu presented the annual report, outlining the association’s vision, activities, and academic achievements of the previous academic year. The formal session also included an oath-taking ceremony led by President Neeraj S Nair, during which the newly appointed office-bearers pledged their commitment to the association and department.The event was hosted by Judith Francy, who ensured the smooth conduct of the programme.

Academic achievers from the previous semester were recognized during the prize distribution ceremony. Following the formal proceedings, refreshments were served, providing an opportunity for interaction among students and faculty members. The programme then continued with a vibrant cultural showcase featuring dance performances by students from Semesters 3, 5, and 7, followed by Freshers Day activities organized to welcome the S1 students. Interactive icebreaker games helped the newcomers connect with their seniors, while the freshers’ talent show provided an opportunity for the newly joined students to showcase their talents through music, dance, and other performances.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Meera Surendran who expressed gratitude to the department leadership, faculty members, student organizers, and participants for their valuable contributions. Overall, the combined AIML Association Day and Freshers Day 2026 provided a meaningful platform for academic recognition, student engagement, cultural expression and interaction across batches, reflecting the department’s vibrant academic and co-curricular environment and its collective commitment to fostering a collaborative and technology-oriented student community.
