ME Alumnus shares industry insights with Mechanical Engineering students

The Department of Mechanical Engineering bridges the gap between academic learning and industry practices through various programmes.

An alumni interaction session with Mr. Remyaj Samaran (Estimation Engineer at Specialist Services LLC, Dubai., 2006–2010 Batch, ME Dept) was organized by the dDepartment.

The interaction provided students with an opportunity to engage with an experienced industry professional and gain valuable insights into career opportunities and industry expectations in the field of mechanical engineering.

Mr. Remyaj Samaran shared his professional experiences and discussed the role and responsibilities of an Estimation Engineer. He emphasized the importance of strong technical fundamentals, practical knowledge, communication skills, professional discipline, and continuous skill development for building a successful engineering career.

He also shared insights into career opportunities for mechanical engineers in the Middle East and highlighted the need for students to develop industry-oriented skills alongside their academic studies. The interaction helped students understand how mechanical engineering knowledge can be applied in estimation, project-related activities, and various industrial sectors.

The session was highly informative and motivating for the students. It also strengthened the bond between the department and its alumni and provided a platform for students to learn directly from the professional experiences of a successful alumnus.
