NSS units and Indian Railways jointly organise awareness programme on UTS on Mobile app
The NSS units of Vidya, in association with officials of the Indian Railways, organized an awareness session on a mobile app called “UTS on Mobile” (Unreserved Ticketing Service on Mobile), recently launched by Indian Railways, in the VLSI Lab on 24 July 2018. The app enables booking and cancellation of unreserved tickets among a host of other facilities. The app will also enable issue and renewal of season and platform tickets, check and load R-wallet balance and help maintain user profile management and booking history. The application is available for both Android and Windows smart phones.
In the awareness session, Mr. Arun Lohithakshan (Secretary, Train Passengers Association) delivered the welcome speech. Mr Prasoon (Thrissur Chief Commercial Inspector, Indian railways), Mr Gopinathan (Deputy Commercial Station Manager, Thrissur), Mr. Shyju (Commercial Clerk), Dr. Saji C B (Principal), Dr. Sudha Balagopalan (Dean Academics) and Mr. Anil M (NSS Programme Officer) attended the programme.
Mr Prasoon explained the features of the new app and the NSS volunteers installed the app in their android phones. As many as 50 volunteers attended the programme.
