Faculty members get training in the use of video lecture tutorials developed by Thrissur-based firm
Times are changing, or have already changed! The traditional class room teaching with chalk and duster has given way to methods of teaching using a variety of IT tools. Vidya has always encouraged such use of IT tools. The latest episode in this direction is the signing of an MoU with M/s Benchmark Learning Resources, a Thrissur-based start-up, which provides video lectures to students through smart phones. The learning package has been designed with module-based videos. Initially, the package covers the topics of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering Graphics and Engineering Mechanics courses in the first two semesters of B Tech programmes. The package also includes videos based on the answers to questions in question papers.
As a part of making available the package to the students, the faculty members of Vidya were given a one-day training on how to use the mobile app. The session was handled by Prof T Krishnakumar, Retired Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Govt Engineering College, Thrissur and an advisor of M/s Benchmark Learning Resources. The programme was attended by Dr Saji C B, Principal, Heads of Departments and programme coordinator Ms Nirmala Krishnan (AP, CE Dept).
