ME Department conducts value-added course on Fusion 360
The current thinking among the administrative and academic leaders of Vidya is that every student joining Vidya should be encouraged to do as many value-added courses as possible. Every student must do at least one course every year. This is motivated by the fact that the curricula prescribed by the University is many a time insufficient to ensure that students get the requisite training for achieving success in the employment market. The recently constituted, but not yet formally inaugurated, Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) in Vidya is the agency that coordinates the conduct of value added courses.
The ME Dept, jointly with the CCE of the College, organised a value added course on Fusion 360, which is one of the latest advanced 3D Design software for the manufacturing industry, during 9 – 11 November 2018. The course was hugely popular among the students with as many as 89 students in the S5 – S7 B Tech (ME) batches choosing to enroll for the course. The collaborating partners were BIMIT CAD and BIM Training services, Kochi.
A well experienced team from BIMIT CAD and BIM Training Services, under the leadership of Mr Viju Antony, covered the various aspects of this software training with well-prepared study materials. They were able to create an enthusiasm and interest among the students and also helped them to complete the second level of Urban Drone Design competition, which is an international Design Contest organized by Autodesk.
