Upasana organises “Shoot”: A workshop on Entertainment Media Production

A one-day workshop on “Entertainment Media Production” was organized at the CAD/CAM Lab of the College on 10 November 2018. Mr Jebin Joseph, content writer of many leading TV channels, was the chief guest of the session. Mr Alex Chako C (AP, ME Dept and Convener of Upasana, Students Trainers Club of Vidya) welcomed all the participants and introduced the program to all. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr N Ramachandran (Head, ME Dept). The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr Amarjith K, Upasana member from ECE Dept.

The workshop gave the participants vast amount of information about visual and entertainment media. There were two sessions: During the first session Mr Jebin Joseph discussed about the procedures of pre-production, production and post production.  During the second session, the participants were divided into four groups consisting of six to seven members. Each group was given six categories from which they could choose one. The students co-operated actively and created many innovative videos about the selected category.

The workshop introduced to the students a video editing software, namely, Adobe Premier. Mr Rijo George, Asst Professor in Multimedia, Little Flower College, Guruvayoor, provided the basics of visual editing. The “SHOOT” for sure provided new horizons for the young aspirants.
