SAP organizes one day workshop on Innovations in Science
Once one imbibes the culture of innovation – not necessarily a scientist or engineer, may be a poet, artist or journalist – he/she is more likely to imbibe what it means to be truly scientifically literate. He/she is more likely to vote in ways that promote such a culture. Such persons don’t fight science and they don’t fight technology. In short, innovation and scientific temper always go hand-in-hand. It was this thought process that motivated the Science Awareness Programme (SAP) project of the College to organise a one-day workshop for school students on 6 July 2019 with the theme “Innovations in Science”. The SAP team chose the areas of solar power and robotics technology as the vehicles to introduce the ideas of innovation to the participants of the workshop. The workshop was organised with the support by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE).
The activities connected with the workshop were conducted in the Main Seminar Hall of the College. As many as 109 students from as many as ten different schools in Thrissur district participated in the workshop.
