Suchitwa Changala: Chain of programmes by NSS units on Gandhi Jayanthi

The NSS units of Vidya, in association with different public sector organizations, organised a chain of cleaning programmes, collectively  christened “Suchitwa Changala”, at different places in Thrissur District on 02 October 2019, the Gandhi Jayanthi Day.  The objective of the programme was to create awareness about the importance of the Suchitwa Mission. As part of this, the NSS volunteers cleaned the premises of following establishments in Thrissur District : Guruvayur Police Station, Guruvayur Bus stand, Poonkunnam Railway Station, Mulangunathukavu Railway Station, Guruvayoor Railway Station, Thrissur Mental hospital, Karamukku Government Hospital, Chavakad Government Hospital, Peechi Forest Office, Ambalapuram Library, Pope Paul Peace Home, Thrissur Town Hall.

Gandhi Jayanthi celebration

On the same day, the newly joined NSS volunteers gathered in the College Auditorium for Gandhi Jayanthi day observation. They shared their views on Gandhian philosophy and Programme Officer Mr Anil Melepuraththe delivered the observation day message. After the programme in the Auditorium, the volunteers  cleaned the College premises and also a canal near the College.

Participation in Youth Leadership Conclave

A group of NSS volunteers participated in a Youth Leadership Conclave organised by ATMA Foundation. They helped the Foundation authorities in coordinating the programme and also attended the sessions on leadership and life skills.

Cleaning campaign continues

The activities under the Suchitwa Changala continued in the next week also. The volunteers of  the NSS units of Vidya organized cleaning programmes at Sree Ravi Varma Mandiram, Nellikunnu  and Poomala Dam on 7 October 2019. As many as 13 volunteers participated in the programme at Sree Ravi Varma Mandiram.
