“Wednesday AI” inaugurated
“Wednesday AI” is a new initiative of V-CAIR (Vidya Center for Artificial Intelligence and Research) to promote discussions and exchange of ideas in AI research and in projects related to AI. It is an informal forum of students which meets every Wednesday from 4.45 pm to 5,45 pm. The forum was officially inaugurated on 25 September 2019 . The inauguration ceremony was attended by Principal Dr Saji C B, Dean-Academics Dr Sudha Balagopalan, Vice-Principal, Dr V N Krishnachandran, and the Heads of the Departments od CSE and ECE Dr Ramani Bai and Dr Swapna Kumar.
The event began with a welcome speech by the Joint Secretary of the AI Club Hemanth Janesh (S7 B Tech CSE) followed by Lighting the Lamp and Vote of Thanks by Joint Secretary Vinay Vincent (S5 B Tech EEE). In the technical session that followed the inaugural ceremony, there was a presentation on “Kidney Tumor Segmentation” by AI Club Secretary Sreehari G Varma and a presentation on the First Prize winning project at Bennett University “Echo-Chambers Based Fake News Detection” by Sreyas Namboodiri.
