“Wednesday AI” holds workshop on NumPy

“Wednesday AI” is a forum initiated by of V-CAIR (Vidya Center for Artificial Intelligence and Research) to promote discussions and exchange of ideas in AI research and in projects related to AI. It is an informal forum of students which meets every Wednesday from 4.30 pm to 6.00 pm. The forum was officially inaugurated on 25 September 2019. Recently, a few students came up with the idea of organising a series of workshops under the banner of Wednesday AI on the broad theme of “Learning Data Science Using NumPy and Pandas” and the first workshop in the series was held on 15 January 2020 at the Advanced Computer Lab.

The resource person for the session was Ms Krishnapriya U P (S8 B Tech CSE A), who was pursuing a course in machine Learning offered by ASAP, and her team members. During the session, the resource person covered the basics of NumPy and its advantages in ML. The hands-on session was attended by as many as 25 students and staff members from various branches.
