Interdisciplinary technical talk series: first session held
With an aim to improve the faculty contribution towards academic research as well as to assist the faculty members with research goals to identify their potential research areas, Vidya decided to conduct interdisciplinary technical talk sessions for the faculty members as well as interested PG students every month. Accordingly, the first session of interdisciplinary technical talk series was held on 5 February 2020 from 3.35 pm to 4.20 pm at the Advanced Computer Lab of the Computer Science Department. Dr Siju K C was the resource person. As many as 25 faculty members from various academic departments and two PG students attended the session.
The programme began with a welcome talk by Dr Suneesh E. He gave a brief introduction about the objectives of the programme. Dr Sudha Balagopalan, Dean, Academics, also addressed the gathering. Later Dr Siju K C addressed the participants and gave them a brief presentation on Reliability Engineering. The session laid emphasis on “Systems of reliability with real-life examples”. After the talk, interactive discussion was also held. Dr Saji C B, Principal, appreciated Dr Siju K C for taking a compact and concise presentation. Finally, the feedback was taken from all the participants. The session came to an end at 4.20 pm.
