An online three-session research paper writing workshop conducted
The Vidya Skill Center organised an online three-session research paper writing workshop during 26 – 30 June 2020. The programme was aimed at helping students as well as faculty members in acquiring skill in writing research papers.
Inaugural ceremony
The inaugural ceremony of the workshop was held on 26 June 20. The ceremony commenced with a welcome speech by Mr Anil Melepurath, Skill Centre-in-Charge. This was followed by presidential address by Dr Saji C B, Principal. Dr Santosh Prasannan, Chairman, VICT inaugurated the programme and conveyed his wishes for the success of the event. The keynote address was delivered by Er G Mohanachandran, Executive Director, VICT. Dr Sudha Balagopalan, Dean-Academic, and the resource person for the workshop introduced the programme. The ceremony was concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr Anil Melepurath.
Session 1
The first session of the workshop was held on 26 June 2020 immediately after the inaugural ceremony. During the session, Dr Sudha Balagopalan introduced the “Tools and Ideas about Research Paper Writing”.
Session 2
The second session, titled “Let Us Write”, was conducted on 28 June 2020. In this session, the focus was on on how to write a research paper. Dr Sudha Balagopalan discussed all the aspects that need to be considered while writing a research paper.
Session 3
The third and final session was conducted on 30 June 2020 . The session mainly focused on how how to edit a paper and other factors that need to considered while publishing a research paper . The session appropriately titled as “Time to Edit and Publish”.
Around 110 participants attended the programme. All session were scheduled in Google Meet from 7 to 8 pm on the respective days. The programme was officially concluded by extending a word of gratitude by Mr Anil Melepurath, Skill Centre-in-Charge towards Dr Sudha Balagopalan.
