NSS units observe special days: World Standards Day, World Food Day, . . .
World Standards Day
The NSS units of Vidya observed the World Standards Day on 14 October 2020 by releasing a poster and a video related to the day and by organizing an online quiz. World Standards Day honors the efforts of the thousands of experts who developed voluntary technical agreements within the standards development organizations such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, etc and to raise awareness among regulators, industry and consumers as to the importance of standardization to the global economy.
Roja Antony was declared as the winner of the online quiz conducted on the day.
World Food Day
World Food Day is an international day celebrated every year around the world on 16 October in honor of the date of founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in 1945. NSS units organized a photography contest related to the observance of the World Food Day. Sandra Martin and Binto Xavier were selected as the winners of photography contest.
Observances of some other special days
World Students Day (15 October 2020, World Hospice and Palliative Care Day (10 October 2020), Indian Air Force Day (8 October 2020) and World Teachers’ Day (5 October 2020) were also observed by the volunteers by preparing posters related to the day and circulating the same among the volunteer community.
