“Make a Robot in 90 Minutes!”
The Robotic Club – Skill Centre in association with Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) of Vidya conducted a programme titled “Make a Robot in 90 Minutes” for students of various schools of Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts. A total of eight training sessions were conducted in the months of May and June 2021. Students of IX, X, XI and XII standard classes of various schools participated in the online training sessions.
The training sessions were handled by a team consisting of various student officials of the Robotic Club. The team was lead by Ms Jemy Jose Kakkassery, Staff Convener of Robotics Club. Mr Alfred George served as the Technical Associate of the training sessions. Mr Sachin Sudheesh introduced various types of robots. Mr Maharoof C P gave the students an insight about various parts of a robot. Mr Akhil Titus briefed about different types of sensors used in a robot. Line Follower Robots, their working and applications were handled by Mr Abhishek S Nair. He also gave the students a demonstration on making a Line Follower Robot. An interesting area of home made robots were handled by Ms Neha Baju and Mr Arjun K. A demonstration on how to make simple robots from materials available at home was given by them. As part of the robotic training, a competition of “Making Home Made Robots” was also announced. Winners would be decided based on the videos of home made robots that would be sent by the participants.
