EEE Dept conducts one-day workshop on Arduino for polytechnic college students

A one-day workshop on “Arduino Programming & Hardware Interface” was hosted by the EEE Dept exclusively for the Electrical Diploma Students of Sree Rama Government Polytechnic College, Thriprayar and St Mary’s Polytechnic College, Palakkad on 5 April 2022. As many as 56 students attended the program. The focus of the workshop was to impart programming and interfacing skills using Arduino board.

The inaugural ceremony was commenced with a welcome speech of Dr Mary P Varghese (HOD-in-charge, EEE Dept). Dr Saji C B (Principal) inaugurated the function. Ms Akhila R (AP, EEE Dept), one of the resource persons of the workshop, gave an overview of the program. Mr Krishnakumar M (AP, EEE Dept) proposed the vote of thanks.

After the formal inauguration, the students were introduced to the software platform of Arduino boards called Arduino IDE. In the hands-on hardware sessions, students were given onboard training on digital read, digital write, analog read, analog write, serial monitoring etc. In the last hours they were asked to complete a small project using all these functions.

Mr Arun Xavier (AP, EEE Dept) and Ms Akhila R (AP, EEE Dept) led the sessions. Trade instructors Ms Baby K A, Ms Jisha P R and Mr Anand E T, of EEE Dept. assisted the resource persons during the sessions. 

The workshop concluded with a valedictory function in which Mr Krishnakumar M (AP, EEE Dept) felicitated the participants.
