EEE Dept conducts Industry Institute Interaction FDP on Power Quality in Practice
EEE Dept organized an Industry Institute Interaction FDP on Power Quality in Practice. The idea was to discuss the power quality issues in industries and monitoring the same using different tools and softwares. A hands-on session using PQ analyzer was also an important and interesting part of the FDP. Practical implementation of remedies for PQ issues was also discussed in detail. The FDP equipped the faculty members of EEE Dept to get an insight into the practical aspects of PQ issues.
The program was inaugurated by Dr Saji C B (Principal) on 01 September 2022 at 9.15 AM which was held at Common Computer Centre, VAST.
Dr Sudha Balagopalan (Dean Academics) explained the prominent reasons for Power Quality issues such as renewable energy sources, power electronic equipments and the charging stations of Electric vehicle.
These PQ issues may lead to hazardous effects in the Bio medical field and Industries. The resource person for second session was Er Anil Nair (Director, Jef Techno Solutions, Bangalore). He discussed about the various case studies related to PQ in the modern power system.
In the afternoon session Er Pedro Esteban (Director- Asia-Pacific, Merus Power, Singapore) explained about PQ issues and applications of power electronics solutions and devices that are practically implemented in industry.
