NSS volunteers attend state level meeting of “We Care”

Vidya NSS volunteers is playing  a vital  role in creating awareness among people about social projects  to carry out social welfare measures covering the needy sections of the state.

NSS volunteers of Vidya, attended the state level meeting on  17 September 2022 related to “We Care” scheme of Kerala Government hosted at St Joseph College, Irinjalakuda. The programme was inaugurated by Dr R Bindu, (Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice) A fund collection drive was initiated by NSS units of Vidya on 16 September and the collected amount was donated towards We Care scheme.

“We Care” is a payment gateway for mobilizing funds for implementing various social security schemes /programmes by the Kerala Social Security Mission under the Social Justice Department. This is basically a relief fund to address the social security needs of the society. The donations/ contributions from the public/ organizations can be collected under this project. The funds mobilized through the Payment Gateway will not be utilized for administrative purposes or overhead charges. Monitoring of this project will be assessed through statutory financial audit & social audit. Kerala Social Security Mission is proposing “We Care” not only to collect contribution for various charity programmes but also to propagate the message of charity, civic sense and social responsibility among the society. The volunteers of the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the National Cadet Corps (NCC) will work together with the ‘We Care’ project of the Social Justice Department.
