Vidya Sports Team grabs second runner up position at APJ AKTU Inter Collegiate Athletic Meet
Every triumph facilitates an athlete become legendary and the energetic performances of Vidya Sports Team turned out to be a valuable asset at APJ AKTU Inter Collegiate Athletic Meet
APJ AKTU Inter Collegiate Athletic Meet award ceremony was a magnificent moment that filled our heart with pride as the incredible Vidya Sports Team secured second runners up in both Men and Women Category. Vidya stands among the crowd with second runner up trophy in the overall point. Abin Babu (Athletic Team Captain) was amongst the others to get his hands on New Meet Record and Gold medal in 1500 mtr.
The 5th edition of the Inter Collegiate Athletic Meet was held at Sri Chandrasekharan Nair Police stadium, Trivandrum during 26 – 28 April 2023 under the aegis of the APJ AKTU. The meet officially inaugurated by Sri. U Sharafali (President, Kerala State Sports Council and former Indian International footballer). The inaugural session was presided over by Dr A Praveen (Registrar APJ AKTU), Dr Vinu Thomas (Dean-Academics), Dr P A Ramesh Kumar (Director, Physical Education), Members of Syndicate and other invited guests graced the occasion.

The remarkable display of our youngsters witnessed from the day one of the event. A total of 76 institutions and 736 athletes took part in the 3 days slated, largest and prestigious Sports feast of the University.The rhythmic and disciplined steps in the March Past brought “The Best Performance Trophy” instituted by the University to our Vidya’s collection. Abin Babu (Athletic Team Captain) brought another Mile stone to Vidya by creating a New Meet Record and Gold medal in 1500 mtr followed by Silver medal by Vishnupreema in neck and neck fight and Bronze medal leaped up by Adarsh K P in Long Jump made the Inaugural Day eventful for Vidya . |

In the overall point tally our team adjudged Third Place under CET and NSS Palakkad with 47 points. |

Closing Ceremony
Dr Saji Gopinath (Vice Chancellor APJ AKTU) was the Guest of Honor in the closing ceremony. Prof. Sanjeev G Member (Syndicate In charge Student Welfare), Dr Venugopal (Member Syndicate), Dr P A Ramesh Kumar (Director, Physical Education APJ AKTU), Dr Deepak Raj (Convener of the meet) attended the prize distribution and closing ceremony.
