Dean-Academics and ISV international conference participants felicitated ahead of their departure to Bhubaneshwar

The exhilaration was palpable as a team from Vidya has been qualified into the final round of IdeaRun and the students (Sanjo P Rejin (S6, ECE Dept) (Lead),Sakthi S (S6, ECE Dept),Sinan Sulaiman (S4, ME),Varundev A V (S4, ECE Dept) will do oral presentation on their project ‘AI Based Early Warning System For Mitigating Human Wildlife Conflict’ in the 2023 IEEE Smart Village Conference on Empowering Communities through Enterprise Development, Education and Technologies For Productive Use of Energy.It is organized by ISV and co-located with the SEFET 2023 conference on “Sustainable Energy and Future Electric Transportation that will be held during 11-12 August 2023 at the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), Bhubaneshwar.

The project (‘Fish Waste to Fertilizer Converter: Technology to Assist Women’) presented by the students Chaitra Prasad (S4, ECE Dept) (Lead),Gayathri Gireesh (S4, ECE Dept),Harikrishnan K S (S4, EEE Dept),Shahaana P P (S2, EEE Dept),Gayathri Siva (S4, ECE Dept) is selected for poster presentation in the ISV conference.In addition to this, Midhun Joshy (S4, EEE Dept), Akhila M (S6, ECE Dept),Jeeva H M (S6, ECE Dept),Suraj Shaju Meledath (S4, EEE Dept), Karan Jacob Mathew (S4, EEE Dept) and Visakh T (S4, EEE Dept) have been selected as volunteers. Sinan Sulaiman, (S4, ME Dept) will perform panel discussion.

Adding another accolade to this inspiring story, Dr Sudha Balagopalan (Lead – Vocational Awareness, ISV South Asia WG, Dean Academics & Professor in EEE Dept) will be delivering a talk in the fourth Session titled “Education, Skill Building and Vocational Awareness for Community Development’ with a topic ‘Hands on Mode on the Road to Vocational Training of Children’ on 10 August 2023.

A felicitation ceremony was arranged for the participants of ISV international conference in the Board Room on 07 August 2023. Mr Suresh Lal (Executive Director, VICT), Mr Thilakan K K (Executive Committee Member, VICT) and Adv P N Unnirajan (Director-Administration) were present on the occasion and conveyed their best wishes that endowed with an inspiration to embark on this journey. Er G Mohanachandran (Honorary Advisor, VICT) was also present virtually to grace the occasion and congratulated all the participants for their significant contribution for being a key player in all ISV activities and serving nodal center for its impactful initiatives. Ms Akhila R (Asst Prof, EEE Dept) shared her experience about this interesting journey and conveyed best wishes from all to the students’ team.Mr Santumon S D (Asst Prof, ECE Dept) also spoke on the occasion.Dr Siju K C (Head of VSEC and Asst Prof, AS Dept) proposed vote of thanks.

The journey to this venture was pretty stretched out, with many encumbrance but after countless confronts, its finally coming to fruition with deep and triumphant efforts of Dr Sudha Balagopalan, who carries all enthusiasm and energy for students. The students and attendees who spoke on the occasion shared their experiences and immense contribution being extended by Dr Sudha and their mentors for bringing this to reality. Dr Sudha, in her speech, ensured whole hearted support to promote education and culture of research with innovative projects in all aspects in order to achieve and fulfill the mission that Vidya believes in.
