Vidya faculty member Mr Arun reaps print media exposure on Teachers’ Day for his exemplary contribution as a promoter of public transport

Mr Arun Lohithakshan, a great supporter of the public transport system and a person who memorize the train time and assisting the travelers to plan their upcoming trips to make the journey easier.  Mr Arun who is a former faculty member in the Dept of ME, VAST Thrissur and currently working in VAST TC Kilimanoor campus, a sister concern of VAST Thrissur, is considered to be the furthermost supporter of the public transport structure. He knows the timings,stops and the numbers of all the trains running know by heart.

He even receives several calls from the public enquiring about the train details. Not just the commoners , he even receives calls from Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) and Members of Parliament (MP). He has taken up the initiative of spreading awareness on the several applications that can help with the easy access of public transport facilities. To cover all aspects of passenger convenience from ticket & freight booking/enquiry to complaint redressal, Mr Arun has brought up the importance of public centric mobile apps such as NTES,UTS and IRCTC .
He has also taken up the responsibility of spreading awareness regarding facilities being offered by KSRTC.His fondness and curiosity towards trains began in the year 2004 ,where he was traveling from Puthukad to Punkunnam. He had been a member of the train passenger association for the past 10 years. Mr Arun also served as a member of the Zonal Railway User Central Committee of Southern Railway, Chennai (ZRUCC) that monitors the problems of railway users in Southern Railway which covers Kerala and Tamilnadu during the year 2021-2023. Mr Arun is serving as Secretary,Train Passengers’ Association,Puthukkad.Mr Arun is currently pursuing further studies at Amritha Viswa Vidyapeetham,Coimbatore.
