ECE S4 students understand the electronics application to sensors and detectors during their Industrial Visit

With an aim to offer industry experience to match the students’ (S4, ECE Dept) theoretical acquaintance, an Industrial Visit (IV) was conducted to Wonderla Kochi on 07 March 2024.

The group tutors Ms Ashitha.P.R (Asst Prof, ECE Dept) and Ms Honey Mol.P.K (Asst Prof, ECE Dept) led the visit. The journey was indeed a wonderful experience as it really improved the bond between the students and tutors. An amusement park was an amazing option for the students to learn and understand the importance of engineering especially electronics and communication engineering in a theme park. Students were able to understand and learn about the safety of the rides. The rides used motion sensors.

The ride gate uses motion sensors to tell the computer when the carriage has come back after ride, there are other sensors for safety measurements. Electronics application in fire alarms, smoke detectors, ticket scanner, etc were well explained . For engineering students especially electronics and communication students the IV was not only fun but also very informative and knowledgeable.

The IV allowed students to experience interactive environments, totaling a latest level of excitement and engagement.
