NSS Unit conducts Swachhatha Hi Seva Cleaning Drive at Guruvayur Railway Station
In connection with the Swachhatha Hi Seva (SHS) initiative, our NSS Unit organized a large-scale cleaning drive at Guruvayur Railway Station on 24 September 2024.
As part of the national campaign to promote a clean and healthy environment, 25 volunteers from our NSS unit actively participated in the drive. The goal of the event was to contribute significantly to the cleanliness of the Guruvayur Railway Station premises, including its surroundings and waiting area.
The event commenced with a motivational talk by Mr Ajims Guruvayur Health Inspector) who emphasized the importance of the Swachhatha Hi Seva mission. Following this Mr Nisanth (Railway Superintendent) led the volunteers with Cleanliness Pledge, instilling a sense of responsibility and dedication among all participants.
The cleaning drive was expertly coordinated by NSS Volunteer Secretaries Aswathy E S (S5, CSE Dept), Mrithyunjay R (S5, EEE Dept), Nistal K Paul (S5, ME Dept), Devika Mothilal (S5, ECE Dept), Obadh Jose (S5, ME Dept), Ardra Shanmughan (S5, EEE Dept), Aruna R Menon (S5, CSE Dept) and Adarsh N A (S5, ME Dept). Their diligent efforts, under the guidance of faculty coordinators Mr Rajesh S K (NSS Program Officer and Asso Prof, EEE Dept), Mr Ranjith E R (NSS Program Officer and Asst Prof, ME Dept), and Ms Delmy David V (NSS Program Officer and Asst Prof, CSE Dept) ensured the smooth execution and success of the program.
This initiative not only helped in improving the cleanliness of the station but also served as a platform to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining public spaces. Through such activities, our NSS unit continues to make meaningful contributions to society and foster a sense of responsibility among the youth.
