AIML Dept conducts talk on “How to Crack a Job Interview”

With an aim to enhance students’  technical readiness, soft skills, and overall presentation, the department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning under the aegis of the Department Association, hosted a talk on “How to Crack a Job Interview” on 18February 2025. The event commenced with an address by Dr. Jeeva K A (Prof & HoD , AIML Dept),who highlighted the importance of developing essential skills for job interviews. This was followed by a welcome address by Riya P D (Asst.Prof, AIML Dept), who introduced the speaker,

Major Joseph K P, a distinguished veteran with 33 years of service in the Indian Army’s Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME). He’s an expert in armament systems and has held significant leadership positions. A recipient of several accolades, including the Operation Vijay/Kargil War Medal, Major Joseph now dedicates himself to empowering young aspirants through his initiative, “Reach for the Stars”, providing free coaching for competitive exams.

Major Joseph conducted an interactive session, covering various aspects of the job interview process, including mock questions and answers, aptitude questions and problem-solving strategies, mock group discussions and teamwork techniques, and basic etiquette and adequacy for job interviews. He emphasized the importance of confidence, communication skills, and preparation in acing a job interview. After the talk, many students shared their experiences and feedback with Major Joseph KP, expressing their gratitude for the valuable insights and practical advice gained from the session.

The vote of thanks was delivered by  Winnie Rose (Association  Secretary, S6 AIML Dept) who thanked Major Joseph K P for his informative and engaging talk. As a token of appreciation, Dr. Jeeva K A handed over a memento to Major Joseph K P. The event concluded with a sense of accomplishment, with students feeling more confident and prepared to face job interviews.
