Vidya applauds the journey of determination and excellence – Proud alumnus Akshay Dileep joins the UPSC Civil Services 2025 Elite Group with Rank 246

Their success stories are a true reflection of Vidya’s commitment to nurturing excellence, and we are thrilled to witness yet another shining example with Mr Akshay Dileep (2012–16 Batch, Production Engineering Department) who has achieved remarkable success in the UPSC Civil Services Examination .

The announcement of the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 results brought immense pride and delight to the entire Vidya fraternity as our distinguished alumnus, Mr Akshay Dileep secured All India Rank 246 and earned a place in the elite group of successful candidates.

From his early days, Akshay harbored a strong aspiration to join the civil services—one of the most prestigious and impact career paths in the country. His unwavering dedication and perseverance bore fruit in his fourth  attempt, with Sociology as his optional subject, showcasing his determination and self-confidence.

Mr Akshay had secured a spot in the elite group of UPSC Civil Services Result 2023 successful candidates with an impressive rank and currently serving as  Assistant Director General of Foreign Trade (Probation), under the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), as part of the Indian Trade Service cadre

Champion Boxer with a Gold Medal at the International Rural Boxing Championship

Mr Akshay was not only an exemplary student but also a dynamic sportsman during his time at Vidya. He earned second place in the Calicut University Inter Collegiate Boxing Championship held at St.Thomas College,Thrissur in 2015. Later, he made Vidya proud on the international stage by winning a Gold Medal in the 75 kg Middle Weight category at the Indo-Nepal Goodwill International Rural Boxing Championship, held in Nepal on 27–28 May 2018.

The unwavering backbone of success: The power of family support

Akshay attributes much of his success to his unwavering family support. His father, Mr Dileep, a businessman, and his mother, Ms Vijaya, a homemaker, expressed their overwhelming joy and pride in his accomplishment. His sister, Ms Aiswarya, an Interior Designer also played a key role in supporting  Akshay’s dream by standing beside him throughout his dedicated UPSC preparation phase.

Hailing from Vrindavan Bhavan,Permangalam in Thrissur district, Mr Akshay completed his schooling at Harisri Vidya Nidhi School, Punkunnam, and IES Public School, Chittilappilly.
