Innovation meets Inclusion @ STRIDE Makethon: Vidya Shines with Seven Teams selected for the Grand Stage
STRIDE (Social Technology and Research for Inclusive Design Excellence) is Kerala’s pioneering initiative to build India’s first integrated ecosystem for democratic social innovation. Led by the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC), STRIDE is committed to transforming the landscape of assistive technology through inclusive, localized solutions. STRIDE is committed to design and develop innovative, low-tech assistive devices that improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities (PwDs) — addressing real-world challenges with practical and inclusive solutions. Withn a vision to Establish Kerala as India’s first Inclusive Innovation Hub by 2026 and Revolutionize the assistive technology ecosystem to meet the needs of over 798,000 PwDs in the state, STRIDE has been implementing quite a lot fo activities and competitions. As part of its mission to foster grassroots innovation, STRIDE launched the Makethon — a platform to prototype breakthrough ideas in assistive technology.
