Inspiring progress through visionary direction : A Leadership Interaction with Dr. Shalij P. R. (Director – Academics)

Their unwavering commitment to academic excellence has established a culture of purpose, integrity, and impact, inspiring generations of students to become ethical and globally conscious professionals.

Vidya formally extended a warm welcome to Dr. Shalij P. R. as he assumed charge as Director – Academics on 16 June 2025. With an illustrious academic career and a deep commitment to curriculum innovation and student-focused learning, he brings visionary leadership and renewed energy to the institution.

The gathering led by Mr Suresh Lal (Executive Director, VICT) and attended by  Adv P N Unnirajan IPS (Retd) (Director-Administration),Dr Sunitha C (Principal), Dr Jeeva K A (HoD, AIML Dept),Dr Abhilasha P S (HoD , CE Dept), Dr Swapna Kumar (HoD, ECE Dept), Dr Mary P Varghese (HoD,EEE Dept),Dr Rakesh Hari (HoD, ME Dept),Dr Reji C Joy (HoD,MCA Dept), Dr Nisha A B (HoD, Applied Science & Humanities Dept)  and Mr Paul Chakola (Head, Placement and Training) acknowledged the pivotal role of the Academic Director in steering Vidya’s academic vision, ensuring excellence in teaching and learning, and fostering an environment of continuous improvement.

In her address, Dr. Sunitha (Principal) outlined  a comprehensive overview of the institution, highlighting recent accomplishments and outlining key areas for further enhancement and continued growth.

The Director was introduced to the attendees, and a brief address was delivered highlighting their background, academic credentials, and the experience they bring to the role. The welcome ceremony reflected the institution’s collective optimism and enthusiasm in working collaboratively under the Director’s guidance.

Heads of all academic departments delivered presentations showcasing their departmental achievements, distinctive initiatives, and academic highlights, providing a comprehensive overview of each department’s contributions.

In his address, the Academic Director Dr. Shalij P. R, expressed heartiest appreciation for the warm welcome and articulated a progressive vision rooted in academic integrity, innovation, and student-focused learning.The Academic Director underscored the importance of interdepartmental collaboration, continuous faculty development, and adapting to the dynamic landscape of higher education.

The event fulfilled on a positive note, with the Principal expressing appreciation and pledging wholehearted support to the Director – Academics in driving future academic initiatives, fostering institutional growth, and enhancing academic quality and innovation.

In his closing remarks, delivered on a note of unity, the Director emphasized the importance of collective effort and urged all stakeholders—students, faculty, and staff—to join hands in advancing Vidya to greater heights of excellence.
