It is a matter of great pride for Vidya fraternity as  alumnus Dr Nitin Padmanabhan (2003-07 batch, EEE Dept) honored with 2024 IEEE PES Outstanding Engineer Award by the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) Kitchener-Waterloo Chapter.This award honors his exceptional achievements as a power system engineer and researcher, as well as his committed volunteer service to the PES community.Nitin’s impactful work has significantly advanced the electric power industry. His leadership and technical expertise continue to inspire both his peers and the next generation of professionals.

Dr. Nitin’s journey spans academia and industry, with impactful IEEE contributions

After earning his B.Tech degree, he served as an Asst Professor in the EEE Dept at Vidya from 2009 to 2014. He went on to successfully defend his Ph.D. thesis at the University of Waterloo in 2019. Currently, he holds the position of Senior Engineer Scientist in Grid Operations and Planning, Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).Dr. Nitin was a key participant in IEEE-related initiatives during his tenure at Vidya, actively supporting and promoting technical and professional activities, and contributing significantly to the growth of the IEEE student chapter.

His dedication and consistent efforts have played a pivotal role in advancing the mission of IEEE PES and in fostering excellence within the professional community.
