Inspired by the noble message of Sree Narayana Gurudevan — “Be strong through organisation” and “Be enlightened through education” — and driven by a sense of responsibility towards their homeland, a group of expatriates came together to form the Vidya International Charitable Trust (VICT). This organisation has now successfully completed 25 years of selfless service and spreading the light of knowledge |
Established in 2000, the founding vision of VICT was to provide high-quality professional education to academically talented but economically disadvantaged students in Kerala by offering them financial assistance, thereby addressing the shortage of quality educational opportunities that existed at the time. The strength of VICT lies in the fact that its trustees and office bearers connected to Vidya do not seek any personal benefit from the trust. In the past 25 years, the trust has established two engineering colleges and a training centre in Kerala, disbursed a total of more than Rs 91 crore as scholarships to over 6,300 economically backward students, and implemented numerous social service initiatives. |
