Indo German Conference @Kochi
A conference on international employability through “Vision Zero” approach was held under the ambit of Indo German Conference, organized by INMECC and OSH Academy at Seagull Square, Kochi on 20 June 2025.
An overview of the conference was by provided by Dr. Avneesh Singh, International Coordinator VZ-RSI and Former Director General, DGFASLI, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India. Dr. Suresh Kumar M, CMD, Seagull International welcomed the gathering and set the context for the day’s workshop. Prof. Karl-Heinz Noetel, President ISSA Construction, International Advisor VZ-RSI, Germany, delivered the keynote address on Vision Zero.
Vision Zero operates in the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) domain. This is an essential knowledge for all jobs and most certainly for engineering, healthcare, construction, industry, transportation, and associated domains. Vision Zero approach is based on the following seven golden rules.
- Leadership commitment – demonstrate commitment
- Identify hazards – control risks
- Set targets for safety – develop programs
- Ensure a safe and healthy system – be well organized
- Ensure safety and health in machines, equipment, and workplace
- Improve qualifications – develop competence
- Invest in people – motivate by participation
Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, Thrissur, was represented at the conference by Mr. Sangeeth K K (Asst Prof, ECE Dept) and Mr. Paul Chakola ( Head, Training and Placement).
