NSS spreads love with ‘Sasneham Oru Oonu’

The National Service Scheme (NSS) of Vidya Academy of Science and Technology continues to uphold its mission of fostering social responsibility and compassion through impactful community service initiatives. One such noble venture titled ‘Sasneham Oru Oonu’ was successfully organized on 10 July 2025, with the aim of providing nutritious meals to the underprivileged and promoting the spirit of empathy among volunteers.

The initiative saw the preparation and distribution of 245 Pothichooru (wrapped meals), made possible through the generous contributions of NSS volunteers, students, and staff members of the institution. The meals were hygienically packed and distributed with care and dignity by the volunteers at noon to ensure timely service. 160 meals delivered to St. Joseph Mental Health Care Home, Pullazhi and 85 meals delivered to ACTS, Thrissur

The smooth coordination and successful execution of the program were led by the enthusiastic and committed NSS Volunteer Secretaries Harikrishnan K (S5, ME Dept), Alanteena C A (S5, EEE Dept), Godwin C Baiju (S,5 ME Dept), Sonu Sunny (S5, ME Dept), Rashmi V R (S5, ECE Dept), Manu K M (S5, EEE Dept) and Anamika Sebastian (S5, ECE Dept)

Their dedication and teamwork exemplified the core values of NSS, transforming the initiative into a meaningful and heartfelt act of service. The program was effectively coordinated under the guidance of Mr. Rajesh S K (NSS Program Officer, Asso Prof, EEE Dept), Mr. Ranjith E R (NSS Program Officer, Asst Prof, ME Dept) and Ms. Delmy David V (NSS Program Officer, Asst Prof, CSE Dept).
