VICT Press Meet marks Silver Jubilee Milestone
As VICT marks its Silver Jubilee in 2025, it continues to stand as a beacon of educational empowerment and social responsibility in Kerala. To celebrate this milestone, highlight its 25-year legacy of delivering quality professional education, showcase its impact on education, social service, and community upliftment, and invite participation in the celebrations on August 16 and 17, a press meet was conducted at Asoka Inn, Thrissur. |
The press meet was attended by Mr. Sudhakaran Polassery (Former Chairman), Mr. Gireesh Kumar Malattiri (Vice Chairman, VICT), Mr. Shaji P. P (Programme General Convener and Executive Committee Member, VICT) and Mr. Suresh Lal (Executive Director, VICT), who shared the latest updates regarding the Silver Jubilee celebrations and other initiatives of the Trust. |
Mr. Sudhakaran Polassery (Former Chairman), who chaired the meeting, highlighted VICT’s 25-year legacy of delivering quality professional education and its significant impact on education, social service, and community upliftment. He emphasized that a hallmark of VICT is that its trustees and office bearers derive no personal benefit from the Trust’s activities, ensuring that all resources are channeled towards education and social development. Mr. Gireesh Kumar Malattiri (Vice Chairman, VICT) emphasized that the Trust’s founding vision was to provide high-quality professional education to academically talented but economically disadvantaged students in Kerala, offering them financial assistance and addressing the shortage of quality educational opportunities that prevailed at the time.He also gave a brief on VICT’s major achievements over the past 25 years. These include establishing two engineering colleges and a training centre in Kerala, disbursing over Rs 91 crore in scholarships to more than 6,300 economically disadvantaged students, and implementing numerous social service and community development initiatives. Mr. Suresh Lal (Executive Director, VICT) also shared that, over the past 25 years, VICT has remained dedicated to selfless service and to spreading the light of knowledge. He spoke about the various functions of the colleges under VICT and explained how these institutions stand apart from others through their commitment to quality education, social responsibility, and holistic student development. Mr. Shaji P. P (Programme General Convener and Executive Committee Member, VICT) shared that the Silver Jubilee celebrations, scheduled for August 16–17, 2025, will be inaugurated by Mr. Suresh Gopi (Hon’ble Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Tourism, Govt. of India). The programme will include the release of Vidya Charithram, the honouring of trustees, a Legacy Tribute – “Vidya’s Pillars”, cultural performances, sessions honouring Directors, Advisors, Principals, and Senior Trustees, an In Memoriam segment to remember departed souls, and “Empowering Tomorrow: Vidya’s Strategic Roadmap.” He also mentioned that the second day will feature the Vidya Youth Day Program starting at 10:00 AM, celebrating the role of youth in Vidya’s journey and future vision. The two-day event will combine tributes, cultural performances, strategic discussions, and campus tours, reflecting VICT’s 25-year legacy of service to education and community development. In conclusion, they extended a cordial invitation to dignitaries and representatives from various print and electronic media.They expressed gratitude to the media for their consistent support of Vidya’s initiatives and achievements and invited them to attend the upcoming Silver Jubilee celebration. With the aim of ensuring a well-organised and impactful interaction with the media,Mr. Arun Lohithakshan (HoD, ME Dept, VAST TC,Kilimanoor), Ms. Surabhi M. S (Asst.
