Anti-Ragging Awareness Session

Vidya Academy of Science and Technology promotes  a campus culture built on safety, dignity, and inclusivity.

The Anti-Ragging Cell’s awareness session on 04 August  2025, served as a powerful forum, uniting students, faculty, dignitaries, and legal experts to discuss anti-ragging efforts.

The event’s started, with a prayer by Arun Babu (S7, EEE Dept). Mr. Krishnakumar M (Convener, Anti-Ragging Cell, Asst Prof,, EEE Dept) welcomed the gathering and highlighted the functioning of the Anti-Ragging Committee and Squad. He also reinforced the importance of maintaining a ragging-free campus..In her presidential address, Dr. Sunitha C (Principal) highlighted Vidya’s proactive initiatives to  instill social consciousness, and encourage students to become responsible and compassionate citizens.

Adv. Jospeter (Panel Lawyer of the District and Taluk Legal Aid Committee) facilitated a highly informative session. He effectively addressed the legal, ethical, and psychological dimensions of ragging. Using real-world scenarios and interactive activities, he explained the provisions of anti-ragging laws, detailed the consequences of violations, and encouraged students to become ambassadors of inclusivity, empathy, and responsible conduct.Following the session, the open discussions encouraged students to reflect on their responsibilities and underscored the importance of peer support in creating a respectful and inclusive campus.The programme ended with a thoughtful vote of thanks by Bhoomika (S3, CSE Dept).
