ME Dept organises technical talk on the topic “Pharma Industry and Mechanical Engineers – Scope and Role”

With an aim to  to enhance understanding of pharmaceutical processes, research and development, the Dept of Mechanical Engineering, organised a technical talk on the topic “Pharma Industry and Mechanical Engineers – Scope and Role” under the banner of the Mechanical Engineering Association in association with ISTE VAST on 8 October 2025.

The session was led by Mr. P. R. Viswanathan (Chief Business Advisor, Medlish Communications, Chennai). His insightful presentation shed light on the crucial role of mechanical engineers in the pharmaceutical industry, highlighting the wide scope and emerging opportunities in this multidisciplinary field. The interactive session provided students with valuable knowledge on how mechanical engineering principles are applied in pharmaceutical manufacturing and process systems.

The talk was well-received by both faculty and students, who expressed that the session was highly enriching and thought-provoking. The department aims to continue organising similar programmes that bridge academic learning with industrial relevance.
