Vidya NSS organises Energy Cell Orientation and Introduction to Carbon Neutral Home Project
The orientation program for the Energy Cell flagship initiatives of KTU NSS was successfully conducted on 21 September 2025. The event aimed to familiarize newly enrolled NSS volunteers with the objectives, activities, and responsibilities associated with the Energy Cell’s flagship programs.
The program began with the soulful rendition of Maanavageetham, setting an inspiring tone for the day.Rashmi V R ( NSS Volunteer Secretary, S5 ECE Dept) delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the purpose and importance of the flagship initiatives.Mrithyunjay (S6 EEE), NSS Volunteer Secretary and Regional Coordinator of the Energy Cell, highlighted the significance of these programs in nurturing environmental awareness, leadership skills, and social responsibility among volunteers.
The orientation was formally inaugurated by Mr. Ranjith E R (NSS Program Officer, Asst Prof, ME Dept).
Technical Session
Following the inauguration, insightful sessions were led by the Regional Coordinators of the Energy Cell flagship programs:

The speakers elaborated on the objectives and vision of the Energy Cell, including the promotion of sustainable energy practices, awareness on energy conservation, and implementation of renewable energy projects. They also shared successful case studies from previous initiatives and motivated volunteers to actively participate in future projects.The vote of thanks was proposed by Anamika Sebastian ( NSS Volunteer Secretary, S5, ECE Dept).
An engaging ice-breaking session followed, designed to build teamwork and camaraderie among the new volunteers through interactive activities.
