It is with a great sense of pride that the Editorial Team of News & Events shares that Dr Shins K (2010-14 Batch, ME Dept) has been honoured with the Institute Research (IR) Award from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) for his outstanding doctoral research work. |
| Adding further distinction to his achievements, Dr Shins was also nominated for the prestigious Keshav-Ranganath Award, which recognizes impactful contributions in engineering research. His doctoral research, titled “Some Studies on Interface Related Problems in Bimaterial and Granular Media using Digital Photoelasticity and Finite Elements” has contributed significantly to advancements in the field of experimental mechanics and material interface analysis. |
| Dr Shins had earlier been associated with Vidya as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and later served as a Junior Research Fellow under the guidance of Dr. Sooraj K Prabha (Prof, ME Dept,Head,Vidya Research Center (VRC)).His tenure at Vidya reflected his dedication to research and academic excellence, laying the foundation for his continued success. It gives us great pleasure to share that Dr Shins, who began her journey at Vidya as a scholarship student, has gone on to achieve this prestigious recognition in the field of engineering research. |
| Dr. Shins K fondly recalls the inspiration and motivation he received from Vidya while working on the project titled “Prediction of Process-Induced Deformations and Residual Stresses in Fibre Reinforced Composite Laminates”. The project was carried out under the Composite Division of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) during 2017–2020, under the guidance of Dr. Sooraj K.
