As part of the nationwide Swachhatha Hi Seva (SHS) initiative, the NSS Units of Vidya organized a cleaning drive at Cheppara Rock Garden on 01 October 2025. The event was undertaken to promote cleanliness, sustainability, and environmental stewardship. It served as a meaningful step toward fostering a cleaner and healthier community while reinforcing the values of civic responsibility among NSS volunteers.
The primary objectives of the programme were:

To restore the natural beauty of Cheppara Rock Garden, which has faced waste accumulation due to increased tourist activity.
-
To create environmental awareness among the public.

Armed with gloves, garbage bags, and essential cleaning tools, the volunteers commenced the cleaning activity. They collected plastic bottles, wrappers, and various waste materials scattered across the premises.
Approximately 5 kilograms of plastic waste were collected during the drive. The collected waste was carefully segregated and disposed of responsibly following proper waste-management practices.
The smooth and effective execution of the programme was ensured through the dedicated leadership of the NSS Volunteer Secretaries (Sonu Sunny (S5. ME Dept), Niranjan Agnivesh K B (S5. ME Dept) and Anamika Sebastian (S5, ECE Dept)
