Swachhata Pledge at Pudukad Railway Station by NSS

The NSS units of Vidya conduct several initiatives to raise awareness about cleanliness and  hygiene.

A Swachhata Pledge Taking Ceremony at Pudukad Railway Station, as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva initiative and in association with the Chimmony Wildlife Sanctuary under the Peechi Wildlife Division, Thrissur, was organized on 02 October 2025.

The pledge was administered by Mr Banty (Station Master, Pudukad) who led all participants in committing to maintain cleanliness and contribute to building a cleaner and healthier nation. The ceremony was conducted in the presence of several dignitaries, including  Mr V. K. Renjith (Peechi Wildlife Warden),  Mr Paul Maneesh (TI TCR),  Ms. K. K. Ananthalakshmi (Station Superintendent),Mr K. K. Sajeevan (Ward Member), Prof. Arun K. L (Passenger Association Secretary) and Sri Mohammed Raphy (Assistant Warden,Chimmony Wildlife Sanctuary).NSS volunteers from Vidya Academy of Science and Technology and Christ College, Irinjalakuda, along with forest officials and local residents, actively participated, reflecting a strong collective commitment to environmental cleanliness and conservation.

The program was smoothly executed under the leadership of NSS Volunteer Secretaries Alanteena C A (S5, EEE Dept) and Godwin C Baiju (S5, ME Dept), with effective coordination by Mr. Ranjith E R (NSS Program Officer,  Asst Prof, ME Dept). The Swachhata Pledge Taking Ceremony served as an inspiring initiative, encouraging participants to adopt cleanliness as a daily practice and motivate others to do the same.
