EEE faculty members participate in National FDP on Green Technologies

Several faculty members of Vidya Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), Thrissur, have successfully participated in a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Green Technologies for a Sustainable Future: The Synergy of EVs and Renewable Energy”, organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Vimal Jyothi Engineering College (Autonomous), Kannur.

The five-day FDP, conducted from 17 to 21 November 2025, focused on emerging green technologies, electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy integration, and sustainable engineering practices—areas of growing importance in modern engineering education and research. The programme aimed to enhance faculty competence in sustainability-oriented technologies and their classroom integration .

The VAST faculty members who participated in the FDP included Mr. Rajesh S. K. (Assoc Prof ), Ms. Neenu Thomas (Asst. Prof – Seln. Grade, EEE Dept), Ms. Anooja V. S. (Asst. Prof – Sr. Grade,EEE Dept),  Mr. Krishnakumar M. (Asst. Prof – Sr. Grade,EEE Dept), Mr. Arun Xavier (Asst. Prof – Sr. Grade,EEE Dept), Ms. Lasitha Mohandas (Asst. Prof, EEE Dept) , Ms. Sheeja G. (Asst. Prof, EEE Dept) , Ms. Priya K. P. (Asst. Prof, EEE Dept)  and Mr. Jayaraj K. V. (Trade Instructor, EEE Dept).

The FDP featured expert sessions on sustainable mobility, renewable power systems, EV infrastructure, and policy perspectives, equipping participants with updated technical knowledge and pedagogical insights. Certificates were issued by Dr. Benny Joseph (Principal, Vimal Jyothi Engineering College) acknowledging the active participation of the faculty members.

This collective achievement highlights VAST’s strong commitment to faculty upskilling, sustainability-focused education, and continuous professional development, ensuring that students benefit from industry-relevant and future-ready engineering instruction.
