NSS Volunteer receives guest invitation to attend Republic Day Parade

The University NSS Cell of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) conducted the Pre–Republic Day (Pre-RD) Selection Process to identify National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers for participation in the Republic Day Parade and other national-level programmes. From NSS Unit 101 of our institution,Harikrishnan K (S6 , ME Dept) actively participated in the selection process and successfully advanced to the State Level Selection Camp, representing the university.

During the second stage of the state-level selection process, the final contingent for parade participation was shortlisted from a limited pool of volunteers. Although  Harikrishnan  was not selected for direct participation in the Republic Day Parade, his discipline, commitment, and sincere involvement throughout the selection process were duly appreciated and noted by the organizing authorities.

Subsequently, in recognition of his consistent participation in NSS activities and his commendable performance in the Pre-RD selection process, Harikrishnan  has been officially selected and invited as a Guest NSS Volunteer to attend and witness the Republic Day Parade 2026 in New Delhi. As part of this special honour, he is permitted to attend the Republic Day celebrations along with one accompanying parent.

Although  Harikrishnan could not participate in the parade during the final stage of the Pre-RD selection, his selection as a Guest NSS Volunteer stands as a significant and honourable achievement.

The recognition reflects the core values of service, discipline and dedication upheld by the National Service Scheme and highlights the quality of student participation from our college.
