Vidya NSS Organizes ‘Sasneham Oru Oonu’

The NSS Units of Vidya  organized a noble initiative titled “Sasneham Oru Oonu” on 23 January 2026, aimed at providing food to the underprivileged while fostering compassion and social responsibility among NSS volunteers.

As part of this initiative, a total of 236 Pothichooru (wrapped meals) were prepared and distributed. The meals were generously contributed by NSS volunteers, students, and staff members of the institution. Each meal was carefully packed to ensure hygiene and quality, and volunteers actively participated in the collection, packing, and distribution processes to ensure timely delivery to beneficiaries.

The distribution was carried out at noon at the following locations:

• 150 Pothichooru were distributed to the needy in the Thrissur Round area.

• 86 Pothichooru were delivered to ACTS, Thrissur.

The activity was executed smoothly and efficiently under the enthusiastic leadership of the NSS KTU Care Coordinators: P D Aravind (S6, ME Dept), Abhinav K M (S6, CSE Dept), Harikrishnan K S (S6, CSE Dept), Anusree (S6, EEE Dept), Anjana V S (S6, ECE Dept), Albin Saji (S6,  ECE Dept), Amrutha P (S6, ECE Dept) and Devika T S (S6, ECE Dept). They were ably supported by the Volunteer Secretaries: Godwin C Baiju (S6, ME Dept), Sonu Sunny (S6, ME Dept)Anamika Sebastian (S6, ECE Dept).

The programme was effectively coordinated under the guidance of Mr Rajesh S K (NSS Program Officer,  Asso Prof, EEE Dept),Mr Ranjith E R (NSS Program Officer,  Asst Prof, ME Dept) and Ms. Delmy David V (NSS Program Officer,  Asst Prof, CSE Dept).
