VICT Chief Patron receives TMA Change Maker Award 2026 for his impactful contributions to education and society

The Annual Management Convention of Thrissur Management Association (TMA) has always been a significant gathering of industry leaders, academicians and management professionals, aiming to address contemporary management challenges.The event provided a dynamic platform for sharing insights, exchanging ideas and fostering collaboration among stakeholders from various sectors.

The 34th Annual Management Convention of Thrissur Management Association (TMA), along with the presentation of Management Awards 2026 was held on 21 March 2026 at Hyatt Regency, Thrissur with the theme “Reimagining Kerala’s Potential.”

Mr. Shaji K V, Chairman ( National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD)), was the chief guest of the function and delivered the keynote address. This was followed by a panel discussion on the same theme.

Management awards were presented under four categories. The TMA Manappuram Group Change Maker Award was conferred on Er. P K Ashokan, ( Chief Patron, former Chairman of Vidya International Charitable Trust (VICT)). Under the able leadership of Er. P K Ashokan and his team, the Trust was established and went on to set up two engineering colleges in Kerala (Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, Thrissur and Vidya Academy of Science and Technology Technical campus. Kilimanoor), furthering the cause of higher education for thousands of deserving students.

VICT also provides scholarships that have helped hundreds of students from underprivileged backgrounds acquire valuable engineering skills. The award recognized the significant social transformation achieved in the higher education sector under his leadership. Dr. Shalij P. R. (Director – Academics, VICT), Dr. Sunitha C (Principal) and Mr. Paul Chakola (Head, Training & Placement) also attended the function.

In his acceptance speech, Er. Ashokan shared his vision and passion for shaping students by providing education, access, and support to the underprivileged in the state. The Trust and its initiatives are driven by the vision: “Progress through Education.”
