VIHAARA 2026 – Vidya College Day, a celebration of pride, talent, dreams, rhythm and unforgettable memories.

The Annual Day celebration stands as a meaningful tradition that not only honors the accomplishments of students but also fosters a deep sense of belonging and pride within the Vidya community, beautifully reflecting the theme “Our Vidya, Our Pride.”
The College Day celebration, VIHAARA 2026, at Vidya Academy of Science and Technology on 26 March 2026 unfolded as a spectacular display of talent and unity. Conducted in two phases, the event created a dynamic platform where students and faculty came together to celebrate creativity, culture, and togetherness in an energetic and festive environment.The festivities commenced with impressive performances by students from various departments. The AI & ML Department opened the cultural segment with innovation and energy, followed by the Civil Engineering Department, which demonstrated creativity and delivered a vibrant performance. The Mechanical Engineering Department showcased precision and talent, while the Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department concluded the first set with flair and enthusiasm
The program commenced with an invocation song by Yamini Vijayan (S6, CE Dept) setting a graceful tone for an evening filled with captivating performances and inspiring moments.The inaugural ceremony was a special and proud moment for Vidya, as it was graced by distinguished alumnus Mr Sumesh Sundar (recipient of Kerala State Film Award for Best Choreography, 2010–2014 Batch, PE Dept) who formally inaugurated the event.Mr Sumesh fondly remembered the encouragement he received from the college to start his initiative D’Addiction (Dance Club of Vidya). He also shared his experiences with the dance club D’Addiction at Vidya, highlighting how, under his leadership, the club achieved several notable successes The program was presided over by  Dr Sunitha C (Principal), who emphasized the importance of such celebrations in fostering creativity unity and a vibrant campus spirit. As a gesture of love  and admiration, a memento  was presented to Mr. Sumesh Sundar by the Principal.The formal segment of VIHAARA 2026 concluded with a heartfelt expression of gratitude by Srivya E. S (Chairperson, (S6, CE Dept)
The prizes and certificates were presented by Dr. Nisha A. B (HoD, AS Dept), Dr. Jeeva (HoD, AIML Dept), Dr. Abhilasha P. S (HoD, CE Dept), Dr. Mary P. Varghese (HoD, EEE Dept), Dr. Swapna Kumar S (HoD, ECE Dept), Dr. Sajay K. R.(HoD, CSE Dept),Dr. Rakesh Hari (HoD, ME  Dept) and Dr Reji C Joy ((HoD, MCA) recognizing the efforts and accomplishments of the students.Ms. Salkala K. S. (Senate Convener, Asst. Prof. – Sr. Grade, MCA) coordinated the event, supported by Ms. Anooja V S (Asst. Prof. – Sr. Grade, EEE Dept.) as Co-Coordinator, along with the valuable support of senate representatives, staff, and students.

D’Addiction (Dance Club of Vidya) put on an incredible show, captivating the audience with their energy and talent
The second phase of the program, which commenced in the evening, significantly elevated the excitement and energy among the students. The atmosphere became lively and vibrant as an electrifying DJ session by JAAZ BAAZ  set the tone for the celebrations, engaging the crowd and creating a festive spirit across the campus.
Adding to the grandeur of the event, a fashion walk was organized with the support of Ramachandra Silks’ Kuthampulli. The ramp came alive as numerous students confidently showcased Kerala’s rich cultural heritage through traditional attire. The participants displayed a wide variety of elegant and colorful outfits, reflecting the diversity and timeless beauty of Kerala’s ethnic fashion. Their performances were met with enthusiastic applause, making it one of the most captivating segments of the evening.
The celebrations culminated in a captivating musical concert by the renowned singer M. G. Sreekumar, bringing the event to a grand and memorable close.Returning to perform on a campus after many years, his presence greatly elevated the event’s charm and popularity, leaving the audience with an enchanting and unforgettable experience.
