CE faculty member and students present research paper in the RDS Conclave 2026
Sustainable innovation is essential for the future of resilient infrastructure and responsible waste management.
The Department of Civil Engineering marked a significant milestone on 02 April 2026, through its successful participation in the RDS Conclave 2026, hosted by Roberts Design Services (RDS) at Infopark, Koratty. Representing the department, a final-year B.Tech team consisting of Aalwin U.F(S8,CE Dept),Abhisree N.S (S8,CE Dept),Aiswarya V. Nair (S8,CE Dept) and Shiya Ignatious (S8,CE Dept) presented their innovative research project, “Sustainable Geo-Bricks from Heavy Metal Extracted Clayey Soil.” Developed under the expert guidance of Ms. Seetha Pisharikkel (Asst Prof,CE Dept),the project highlights a breakthrough in environmental geotechnics by transforming contaminated soil into eco-friendly building materials.
The selection of this project following a competitive application process provided students Abhisree N.S. and Shiya Ignatious with a prestigious platform to showcase their work to industry experts and peers from various engineering institutions. As RDS is a leader in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and digital construction, the conclave offered the team invaluable exposure to modern industry practices and real-world engineering applications.
| The Editorial Team of News & Events joins the entire Vidya fraternity in extending hearty appreciations to Ms. Seetha, Aalwin, Abhisree, Aiswarya, Shiya on the successful presentation that demonstrates civil engineering industry’s potential to shift from resource consumption to environmental restoration !!! |
