Industry Interaction Session on “From Coding to Vibe Coding: AI-Spec Driven Development”

To introduce students to the paradigm shift in software engineering, the Department of MCA organized an Industry Interaction Session on 13 March 2026, for the S2 and S4 MCA students, aiming to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations.

The session was led by Ms Shajna Mustafa (Associate Project Manager at PIT Solutions Pvt Ltd, Ernakulam). She delivered an insightful talk on the topic “From Coding to Vibe Coding: AI-Spec Driven Development”. During the session, the resource person highlighted the evolution of software development from traditional coding practices to modern AI-driven approaches. She emphasized how developers are increasingly relying on AI tools and specification-driven development to enhance productivity, reduce errors and accelerate project delivery. The concept of “vibe coding” was introduced as a paradigm where developers focus more on problem understanding and creative solution design, while AI assists in implementation.

The interactive session provided students with valuable exposure to current industry trends, practical insights and the growing importance of AI in software development. Students actively engaged in discussions and clarified their queries regarding career opportunities and required skill sets in the evolving tech landscape.
